I have been having issues with my forearms and my hands going painfully numb at night and the last couple of nights have been so bad it is causing me to loose sleep. I did some research online and then talked to a nurse at my doctor's office and sure enough I have carpal tunnel syndrome. Just when I think I get past one issue (be it nausia, insomnia, or getting GD under control) something else like this pops up. They tell me that it will likely go away within a month of having my baby but I am not even due for another 3 months. Good grief.

I just read this yesterday and was shocked as well. So far I have not gotten it ( I am 20 weeks), so fingers crossed!
1For me pregnancy brought major sciatic pain, which thankfully went away as soon a I delivered. But carpal tunnel wreaked its nasty revenge a few weeks postpartum. I had numb, tingly fingers and when I'd wake in the middle of the night for a feeding I was in pain, unable to lift my baby from his crib. At my mom's group I brought this up and one of the moms who had carpal tunnel in pregnancy loaned me her wrist braces. They have made a world of difference. I only wear them when I sleep. I still haven't regained full feeling in my fingertips, but it is getting better as long as I wear the braces at night.
